The Library Committee held its first meeting for the year 2026 on Friday, February 13, at 4:00 PM, at the Library. The meeting officially launched the committeeβs programs and collaborative efforts aimed at enhancing library services, supporting research, and enriching learning opportunities for the academic community. All members of the committee were present, ensuring full participation in the discussions and decisions for the year.
Key topics included the acquisition of library resources for 2026 to maintain access to up-to-date and relevant materials, and the continuation of library resource sharing with other Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs) to strengthen institutional partnerships. The newly appointed NC-LISA Officers for 2026 were introduced, along with the presentation of their proposed plans and programs for the year, setting a dynamic roadmap for the libraryβs growth and innovation.
The Community Extension Services (CES) had launched the second batch of its long term project, the EDUKalEDAD program.
The class started with the basic conversational English with the lecturer, Ms. Michelle Cruz. "We aimed to make our elders mentally active, socially engaged, and more confident in everyday communication. We wanted them to practice simple dialogues about daily life and social interaction in a relaxed and supportive setting," said Ms. Cruz.
The first day of the Capacity Building for Tutors for the Teach to Reach Literacy Projectβan NSTP-led tutoring program supporting struggling learners in English and Mathematics from selected Grades 1β3 pupils of Partida Elementary Schoolβwas successfully conducted today, 5 February 2026, at Partida Elementary School. The training will continue tomorrow, 6 February 2026, to further equip student-tutors with essential knowledge and skills for program implementation.
The training was facilitated by Partida Elementary School, led by Mr. Sherwin Santos, and included dedicated Grade 1β3 teachers who shared effective strategies for early literacy and numeracy development. The activity was also graced by Hon. Santiago Malubay, Jr., Barangay Captain of Barangay Partida, and Dr. Maricar Joy C. Buluran, Dean of the College of Education, strengthening collaboration among community and education partners.
Norzagaray College-Community and Extension Services welcomed the second batch of senior citizen students under the EDUKalEDAD program.
