ABSTRACT

This study investigated the connection between the relationship of interactive media and the reading comprehension of Grade 5 learners. In an era of digital transformation, interactive media became a prevalent tool in education. This study explored the trends and issues surrounding its implementation and its impact on reading comprehension, it also addressed concerns related to the Phil-IRI level of reading comprehension. The aim was to investigate whether the integration of interactive media in educational settings positively impacted reading comprehension skills in this group. This study’s objective was to know if using interactive media can be effective in the reading comprehension skills of Grade 5 learners in one of the public schools in Norzagaray, Bulacan, and to identify best practices for implementing these technologies in the classroom. The researchers utilized a non-experimental quantitative and correlational research design to explore the relationship between the use of interactive media and the reading comprehension level among Grade 5 learners. Despite the widespread use of interactive media in educational settings, the study found no significant relationship between the use of interactive media and the level of reading comprehension in Grade 5 learners. Furthermore, the study emphasized the importance of teacher preparedness and adapting to evolving technology, by examining these facets, this research aims to contribute to enhancing reading comprehension among Grade 5 learners. The researchers’ recommendation was to integrate writing and reading lessons through the use of interactive media, as this can also help reinforce reading comprehension skills.
