ABSTRACT

This study was compelled to carry out action research that look on the use of online infused modular learning in the English academic performance of the Grade 10 students. It was carried out in one public high school and was concluded on the third quarter of the school year 2021-2022. Thirty (30) participants were selected through a purposive sampling method. The study used mixed method of research that includes a one group pretest-posttest experimental design and semi structured interviews. T test was used to find significant difference between the pre-test and post test scores obtained. The findings revealed that the independent t-test analysis showed the t value of -7.995 with a p<.001 is less than the significance level α = 0.05. Thus, a significant difference between the levels of academic performance in English of Grade 10 students based on their pre-test and post-test scores was found. This means that students likely perform better with the use of online infused modular learning compared to having modular learning alone. Based on recent experience with online infused modular learning, all the participants, emphasized that it motivated and helped them understand more their English lessons. Furthermore, it is recommended that online of infused modular learning should be done when face to face classes is limited and it should not be applied to English classes alone and teachers should be trained with proper strategies in handling online classes whereas the approach in doing online infused modular will be taught.
