Abstract
This qualitative study aims to determine the effect of pandemic to small resorts in Norzagaray Bulacan and to analyze their survival and recovery strategies. The study was conducted to three small resorts in Norzagaray Bulacan namely: Adventure Resort, Camp Carolina Resort and Prince Kevin Resort. Data were obtained through interviews and responses were coded to determine the themes. The pandemic caused the resort to have a decrease in sales and revenue, employee retention and skeletal workforce and temporary closure due to heightened safety and health protocols issued by the government and IATF. The resorts had no recovery plans during the pandemic. The survival strategies of resorts include strengthened customer relationships, continued facility maintenance and staff development. Strong marketing and promotional strategies are deemed necessary to re-introduce resorts’ services and amenities as the industry is starting to reopen presently. This study recommends resorts to create a risk and recovery management plan.
