ABSTRACT
As an institution of learning, the Department of Education (DepEd) works to protect and promote the rights of every Filipino including both teachers and students. Towards this end, the DepEd fully supports the continuing development of them by supporting their rights. This could be the reason why teachers are deemed people with authorities. They have legal roles in the society. In line with this, the study aims to address the authority of the teacher and its role in the students' learning. This study is conducted to teachers at Matias A. Fernando Memorial School for the Academic Year 2021-2022. The study used the quantitative method thru survey questionnaire in the form of a Likert Scale administered through Google Form. Based on the findings, it was concluded that there is a significant relationship between teacher's authority and student’s learning in terms of motivation and behavior wherein all these factors had a very high impact on students. In addition, teachers also encountered having problems handling students in class because of too many responsibilities. Teachers also had a hard time balancing their time and focusing on teaching the students. Moreover, the researchers recommended that teachers set and keep the rules simple and easy to follow. Directly address the misbehaving students, explaining why their behavior is unacceptable and instructing them on what they should be doing instead. Continue encouraging them with authority for them to become motivated and actively participate in the classroom activities.
