ABSTRACT
Global educational systems have faced significant challenges as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic which led to the emergence of various learning methods. This study aims to examine how the learning behaviors in macro skills of Grade 7 students in Tomas Del Rosario College have changed after the pandemic throughout the school year 2022–2023 using a descriptive research design. A four-part researcher-made questionnaire was employed in the study. To determine the age, sex, grade level, and monthly family income profile of the students, statistical tools specifically frequency and percentage were employed. The factors that affect learning behavior in terms of peer group, home environment, exposure to social media, and parental support were identified using a weighted mean. The mean was used to determine how the students' reading, speaking, and listening learning behaviors had changed. A four-point Likert scale was used to assess the impact of various macro skills on students' learning behavior, including peer interaction, classroom conduct, and study habits. Likewise, Pearson correlation coefficient was used to assess whether there is a substantial difference in their learning behavior on various macro skills. The results revealed that while certain student learning behaviors—like speaking, listening, peer interaction, and study habits—tend to be significant when respondents are classified based on their profiles. Most learning behaviors did not result in statistically significant differences. Similar research can be conducted at different grade levels to gain a variety of insights that could reveal other factors influencing students' macro skills learning behavior following the pandemic.
